Hope Estate Winery - Official Work Log
Work Log Dated: 01/05/10
Entry to the battlefield is between these two ‘dud scuds’. Made from left over winery machinery, they add interest to the theme.

What’s a battlefield without some sandbag bunkers! These emplacements will make a great position to hold off the enemy until reinforcements arrive.

Advancing through the woodland, a pillbox could become a defensive positon, or one from which to launch an attack!

Lets ‘HOPE’ anyone on guard duty at this sentry post doesn’t get too distracted by the wine selection!

Cutting posts for small log walls as barricades to add ‘cover’ to the battlefield.

’Casey’ hard at work with her pile driver. This attachment allows us to put up barricades in record time.

”HALT!...papers please!” ‘Border Crossing’ in place, next is the sentry post alongside. Anyone got an old airplane they don’t need?

We are now in the process of rolling out the field artillery. Don't worry, this is a wooden movie prop and can’t fire more than a couple of splinters!

This beautiful woodlands is relatively flat with occasional undulations. A 2m wide creek meanders through a portion of the field. Trees are mainly eucalypt. Fortifications will include trenches, foxholes, sandbags and log walls.
Starting to remove debris. Without the help of the Hope Estate tractor (aka Casey) we’d certainly be stuggling. She is Rob’s (aka Seal) hard working girl…

Our “river crossing’ is complete…we can get equipment to the other side where we are laying the groundwork for the battlefield. Big enough to get the truck over and rock solid!

‘Troop crossings’ will be via smaller bridges…single file. We’ve got 5 bridges in total!

The new ‘armoury’ will be in this tin shed…we’ll ‘theme’ it to give it a military feel. There is even a ‘howitzer’ replica on its way (photos when we receive next week)

Keep watching as work progresses. Official launch date TBA.
